Welcome home to yourself, your journey….

If you have landed on this page and are reading about me, there is a good chance that you are looking to find a therapist and pursue psychotherapy services. Some of you might have “done” this before, and for some of you, it is the first time embarking on this journey. Whoever you are and however your experience has been, I welcome you and commend you for opening up to new possibilities.

In this process, you might wonder if I am the “right person” to share your journey with you. There is an abundance of finding suggesting that therapy is “helpful” when you are supported and understood by your therapist. With that said, I hope you take the time and allow yourself to know any therapist before embarking on your journey. You can do that by scheduling a consultation appointment with them. Remember it is your journey, and you want to feel supported, so collaboration is the key…

As for me, I started my career as an educator in the 1990s. While being an educator, my passion for psychology was satisfied as I was part of a research team working on different aspects of what psychology could offer. My exposure to the field only grew the desire to know more, and soon I dedicated my training and schooling in the field of psychology. Although My personal and professional experience over the years has shifted and shaped my therapeutic style, I have come to realize that one constant element has been what has held me rooted in this field. I hold the belief that a  “therapy office” is a safe, sacred place where all have the opportunity to feel safe, accepted without being judged or frowned upon. It is a place where healing could begin. Walking through the path of our lives, we often and for various reasons wear “masks” to avoid dealing with or hiding our pain and anxiety, or perhaps hiding in the shadows.

Masks help us to hide what we don’t want to be seen, but then there comes a time where these masks no longer serve the purpose. Then the search begins, the search to “find options.” Questions are posed: what are we going to do? Do we have to be brave enough to reveal our true selves? Are there other “options”  ?.. To get to the answer, we need to look inside and outside, and to do that; we need a “safe and  Judgement Free” place to start our journey of discovering inner peace and moving towards healing.

I see my role as the one supporting my clients in their journey of “finding hope and growth.”  Therefore, I tailor my approach to treatment base on each individual’s needs and goals. I value collaboration in this process the most; that is why I would like to do a 20-minute free consultation at the beginning. During our consultation, I will be asking you questions to find out what your goals are and what kind of support you are looking for, and then I will present options to you so you would know how therapy would be like if we were to work together. As you see, the journey starts with collaboration between you and me, and this collaboration will be important throughout your journey to ensure that your needs are met.

I have experience, training, and special interest in working with individuals who are navigating their place in the world, who are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, distressed, and out of balance. Who are searching for answers to find their way back to the inner peace and balance in their world. They might be navigating various aspects of their selves and identity. They might be looking for finding answers as to why they don’t feel “right,” why they feel “stuck,” why they “don’t fit in.” These issues might arise when we are faced with “life-changing events and transitions.” some examples are: transitioning to adulthood, parenthood, marriage, divorce, immigration, “coming out” or questioning our sexual, gender identity, dealing with childhood trauma or trauma in general, anxiety and depression. I have vast experience and great interest in working with individuals, couples, families, and groups in supporting them in their journey to healing. Growing up being exposed to different cultural ethnicity and working with different people from different walks of life with different beliefs and world views has helped me become who I am. I am ready to provide a “safe, judgment Free space” for you to start your journey to healing. I hope to meet you soon!

Please feel free to contact me to schedule a free phone consultation so we can get to know each other a little before we schedule a meeting.
