The concept of telehealth (providing services by phone, video, or virtual means) has been around for a long time. Before COVID, less than 10% of the US population used telehealth for clinical encounters. However, we have seen a rapid expansion of telehealth during the COVID-19 pandemic. This growth seems to be appropriate given the safety concerns and the need for clinical services during the present time. Many studies have shown that telehealth services are effective and comparable to in-person services. To put it simply, it seems that telehealth services are not only safe (from the comfort of your home), they are effective as well!

 In response to the current situation with COVID 19 and providing an alternative option to the traditional in-person therapy, We offer “telehealth” or virtual therapy. Through telehealth, I can provide therapy online and over the phone for clients who live anywhere in the state of California. Through telehealth, you have the option of connecting with me virtually (online)  or over the phone from the comfort of your own home.  When you schedule an appointment,  Our clinicians will message you with further instructions for your appointment.

It is, however, important to note that many commercial insurers, as the response to the COVID 19 situation, have increased the number of the services they cover — some temporarily and others on a permanent basis. For some of these insurers, Telehealth services have been one of the “add on” services in that list. If you are thinking of using your insurance for your therapeutic needs, please follow up with your insurance to see if the services are covered through your insurance or not.
